Industrial Infrared Power
FLIR is arguably the leader in the thermal camera industry, and the T620 is one of the company's most powerful and highest resolution thermal imaging cameras. This version of the T620 comes with a 45-degree wide-angle lens as standard, although 15-degree telephoto and 25-degree options are also available as camera packages through TEquipment. The T620 features a 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen for easy image capture, review, and adjustment. Through the touch screen, users can adjust most camera settings and take control of functions like scalable and moveable P-i-P mode, UltraMax super resolution, and MSX thermal fusion as well as measurement modes including Delta T, isotherm color alarm, and 10 moveable spots.
UltraMax™ is an exclusive image processing technology designed by FLIR. Captured images contain over 4 times as many pixels with over 50% less noise than thermal imagers not equipped with this feature. This allows users to more easily pinpoint the exact location of problem spots and provides a greater level of thermal accuracy.
Easily store and refer back to picture locations with automatically embedded pointing direction and geo-location for captured thermal images. This saves time locating problem areas found during a field inspection and recognizing locational patterns for any issues.
Use your T-Series thermal imager in any lighting conditions. With the available viewfinder users can view images in bright or sunny conditions without worrying about screen glare.

FLIR UltraMax is the company's innovative take on image scaling, totally different from other methods like interpolation and pixel averaging. It is a form of super-resolution technology which has the power to increase infrared resolution by four times, turning the T620's native 640x480 resolution into 1,280x960 resolution with more than 1.2 million pixels total. UltraMax also decreases image noise by up to 50% and, because of the greater number of pixels per inch, decreases measurement spot size as well, effectively increasing measurement accuracy. UltraMax works by capturing 16 thermal images per second when active. These images are slightly offset due to natural hand-held movement and when combined in-camera, the resulting thermal images have 4x greater resolution. The images below illustrate how UltraMax increases accuracy by increasing pixel resolution.
MSX is a proprietary FLIR technology which increases the visible, sharp details in thermal images. As you can see from the images below, standard infrared images with no MSX enhancement display vivid colors to represent temperature, however, depth and clear detail is lost. MSX corrects this by taking a visible light image along with IR images and extracting the visible light details. These sharp highlights are then embedded in their corresponding thermal images to create infrared pictures with the sharp, visible detail needed to distinguish a scene and make out important structural elements and labels. This basically eliminates the need for reference images and saves time in the process. Check the images below to see the difference MSX makes.
The T620 thermal camera is designed with inspectors and maintenance professionals in mind. FLIR has incorporated features like a rotating optics block, capable of 120 degrees of up and down movement, to make work easier in these areas. Other ergonomic features include the intuitive touch screen interface, simple buttons easily used with gloved hands, an LED light for imaging in darker areas, and a laser pointer for more accurate shooting. Fast autofocus further improves shooting accuracy and ease of use, while manual focus is available as well to dial in sharp images.
FLIR Tools Mobile is a free app available for Apple, Android, and Kindle devices. With a wireless internet connection, users can connect devices running the app with the T620 thermal camera. With this and other T-Series cameras, FLIR Tools Mobile opens up possibilities by allowing you to take remote control of camera functions like focus, level, span, and more. Users can also stream live thermal video, import images from the camera, capture images remotely, and adjust images, all from a smartphone or similar device. Once images are imported and adjusted, FLIR Tools Mobile makes it easy to create professional reports and send them out directly from the app.
FLIR MeterLink allows users to connect select FLIR and Extech moisture and clamp meters directly to the T620 infrared camera via a Bluetooth connection. This can be very useful for quantifying thermal events and investigating their causes. When active, moisture and electrical data from connected meters is automatically embedded in thermal images, saving time during the review process and streamlining the process overall.
Lens Options – This version of the FLIR T620 includes a 45° wide-angle lens. Seven other options are available including 7° & 15° Tele, 25°, 80° Wide, and 100 μm, 50 μm and 25 μm close-up lenses. TEquipment offers camera packages with 15, 25, and 45-degree lenses.
Image Annotation – With the FLIR T620, voice comments can be made with the included Bluetooth headset. Text comments are possible with the touch screen keyboard. Sketching on infrared and visual images is also possible via the touch screen.
Compass & GPS – The T620 features an integrated compass and GPS device. When active, camera pointing direction and geo-location are embedded in thermal images to help in relocating the precise image capture site.
Digital Zoom & P-i-P Mode – The T620 infrared camera features continuous digital zoom in three levels; 2x, 4x, and 8x. The T620 also features a scalable and moveable picture-in-picture image mode.
FLIR offers its impressive, standard 10-5-2 thermal camera warranty on the T620. This warranty is one of the best in the thermal camera industry. It provides extended 10-year coverage on the IR detector, 5 years on field-replaceable batteries, and 2 years on parts and labor. FLIR can offer this warranty because the company manufactures critical camera components in-house and stands behind them with confidence.
