FLIR Industrial Thermal Cameras
FLIR Industrial and Building Diagnostic Thermal Cameras are some of the best on the market today. No other company has so much on offer for so little cost. Not to mention the reputation FLIR has built as the most well-known thermal camera manufacturer. This reputation is well deserved; the capabilities of FLIR’s product line and support network are second to none. The breadth of the FLIR product line is also quite impressive. In this category alone FLIR offers over 90 different camera options. You will find exactly what you need from FLIR.
FLIR Industrial Thermal Camera Features
FLIR MSX Technology
FLIR MSX Technology was designed specifically for building diagnostics and preventive maintenance. MSX stands for Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging. This technology extracts the high-contrast highlights generated by the thermal camera's built-in digital camera and overlays them with the identical thermal image in real time. Essentially you are left with a blended image in which you can see thermal data as well as minute details like letters and numbers. Almost all FLIR Industrial Thermal Cameras include this technology. With it you can work faster and generate reports much more quickly. To really see the difference, check out the comparison below of identical images with and without MSX.
Accuracy
When you take thermal readings the important data isn't in how the image looks, it is in what the image shows. This makes a thermal camera much different from a digital camera because sharpness or clarity are not primary attributes, however accuracy is. Thermal accuracy tells how consistently and how close to actual temperature a thermal camera can read. This is affected by many variables. The primary variable is the thermal camera accuracy rating. All FLIR cameras are accurate to ±2% (about 3.6
o F) or better. You can be confident in the accuracy of FLIR cameras because the company makes all of its thermal imaging detectors in-house.
Other factors affecting accuracy include emissivity and reflected temperature. In order to maximize accuracy and ease of use, a camera that allows you to easily change these variables is ideal. FLIR thermal cameras give you this capability. Simple, easy to access menus make it easy to always make the best call out in the field. Check out the images below to see the in-camera menus.
Wireless Connectivity
FLIR offers many Industrial thermal cameras (such as the excellent E-Series and E-Series bx) that have the ability to connect wirelessly to FLIR moisture and clamp meters. This is called MeterLink. It uses Bluetooth communication to communicate with meters and automatically embed meter data in any thermal images you capture. This can save you lots of time.
These cameras also allow you to connect wirelessly to smartphones and tablets via the FLIR Tools mobile app. This technology gives coworkers or clients the ability to view what you are seeing on your thermal imager from a tablet or phone in real time. The video below demonstrates this capability.
Warranty
